Meyer succeeds in creating fantastic characters that the reader can invest in without fear. Her strength in creating lovable characters does not fail, making for a great read. Why this is "adult" fiction, while her Eclipse series is "young adult" fiction I do not know - in my opinion it's all just great reading. Parents who might think this book is more "adult" and are wary of letting their 12-14 year old read this should not worry - if I remember correctly there is not a swear word or sex scene to be had.
