I was lucky enough to receive a Reader's Copy of this novel, and glad that I didn't immediately dismiss it based on the cover and synopsis on the back. The author successfully weaves the historical plotline with the modern day story. The historical plotline is interesting and informative, and Ebershoff has obviously done a lot of research regarding the early days of Mormonism and its founders. The modern day story has a very likable main character and a look into modern day polygamy. If you are looking for a murder mystery this is not it - if you are looking for some good fiction don't be deterred by the page count - it's an easy read that flows nicely.
